She was born on 30th,September,1980,inKosice,Czechoslovakia.She started playing tennis at the age of three.Her parents divorced,her mother remarried in 1988. She moved to Switzerland with mother and
stepfather,haslived there ever since.
She became European champion for players under 18 in 1994.She won th Wimbledon doubles title in 1996 at the age of 15.And she won all for Grand Slam doubles titles in 1998.
Martina has always been very determined and hardworking keen on all sports.In her freetime, she likes horse riding and skiing and joying going to Museum ,art, galleries, theatre,cinema.
Martina says that she had like to keep racehorses when she retries from tennis.
